What can an employer see when staff use Nutrola?

Employers see only group totals, such as how many people are active. They never see meals, photos, weight or body measurements, and Nutrola does not sell health data.

In short

  • 4 group totals arrive by email on request: people on the list, seats activated, seats active, and the average number of days with at least one logged meal.
  • The organization never sees anyone's meals, photos, weight, body measurements, activity or account details, not even on request.
  • 5 people is the minimum for a team to get its own totals, and smaller teams count only in the whole-group total.
  • There is no admin dashboard, and Nutrola does not sell health data or use it for advertising.
  • Anyone can delete their account and data in the app at any time.

An employer sees group totals only, never individual data. The organization gets four counts by email on request, such as how many people are on the list and how many were active. It never sees anyone’s meals, photos, weight or body measurements, not even on request.

Can an employer see what staff eat or weigh?

No. Nutrola gives the organization counts for the whole group, never details about a person. A staff license is 12 months of Nutrola Premium for each person. Each person’s place is a seat, tied to one email address. A seat is activated once that person signs up with that address and Premium turns on.

What reports does the organization get?

The organization gets group totals by email, on request. For a staff license, you might ask for them monthly. In a 4-week challenge, the totals arrive weekly. Each report has the same four counts for the whole group: people on the list, seats activated, seats active, and the average number of days with at least one logged meal.

Illustration only. This made-up monthly report for a 100-person license uses round, invented numbers. They say nothing about how staff use Nutrola.

Is there an admin dashboard?

No. There is no admin dashboard. There is also no single sign-on (SSO), the setup where staff log in through their company’s own login system. Nothing needs to be installed or connected, and access works by email address. Totals arrive by email. If you are still comparing apps, see our guide to choosing a nutrition app for employees.

How do team totals work in a challenge?

Teams of at least 5 people get their own totals, with the same four counts as the whole group. Smaller teams count only inside the whole-group total, because a total for a very small team would effectively describe each member. In a challenge, the weekly totals go to the whole group, or to each team of at least 5 people. To plan the challenge itself, see our guide to running a 4-week nutrition challenge at work.

Is the data sold?

Nutrola does not sell health data, according to the Nutrola privacy policy. It also does not use health data for advertising.

Where is the data stored?

Health and fitness data is stored on the person’s phone and on Nutrola’s servers. Some of Nutrola’s service providers are in the United States, as the privacy policy explains.

Can staff delete their data?

Yes. Anyone can delete their account and data in the app at any time.

Is Nutrola a medical device?

No. Nutrola is a nutrition and calorie tracking app. It is not a medical device and does not give medical advice.

What can an organizer tell staff about privacy?

An organizer can share a short note like this one, adapted to their own wording.

“We are giving everyone access to Nutrola Premium. Nutrola only sends us group totals, such as how many people are active, and never shares anyone’s meals, photos or weight. You can delete your account and data in the app at any time.”

What should we decide before we buy?

Three choices shape the reports and the purchase:

  • Team totals. Teams need at least 5 people to get their own totals, so decide early whether you want teams in a challenge.
  • How often. Totals come on request, for example monthly for a license or weekly in a challenge.
  • Group size. A staff license needs at least 10 people, with one seat per person.

How to get started

Here is the path from quote to live access, in four steps:

  1. Get a quote. A formal PDF quote is available for internal approvals.
  2. Send the email address each person will sign up with. A spreadsheet or a plain list is fine.
  3. Pay the invoice. Invoices come from Monorra LLC, the Delaware limited liability company that makes Nutrola. You can pay by card or by bank transfer, and the payment terms are on the quote.
  4. Each person downloads Nutrola from the App Store or Google Play and signs up with that email address. Premium turns on within one business day of Nutrola receiving the list and the payment, or of the person signing up if they sign up later.

Quick answers

Do staff have to pay or enter card details?

No. Nobody on the list pays or enters card details. The organization pays the invoice, and each person signs up with the email address on the list.

What happens to a seat when someone leaves?

The seat can move to someone else at no cost. Send Nutrola the new email address, and seats that were never activated can move the same way.

Is there a leaderboard for a challenge?

No. There is no in-app leaderboard. The organizer receives the weekly totals by email and shares them however they like.

Can a challenge score staff on weight?

Nutrola recommends scoring teams on logging habits, not weight. Weight is never shared with the organization, not even on request.
